Linoleoyl ethanolamide

Linoleoyl ethanolamide (LEA) is an N-acylethanolamine derived from linoleic acid that acts as a PPAR-α agonist and entourage modulator of endocannabinoid tone, influencing appetite, inflammation, and pain signalling. As a salivary lipid mediator it forms part of the N-acylethanolamine family that counterbalances pro-inflammatory eicosanoid signalling and shifts with physical and nutritional state. Piomelli (2000) established the fatty-acid-ethanolamide framework underlying this signalling system.
