Tyrosine

Tyrosine is a conditionally essential aromatic amino acid synthesised from phenylalanine and serving as the precursor for dopamine, noradrenaline, and adrenaline, the catecholamines driving arousal and the sympathetic exercise response. Salivary tyrosine reflects both proteolytic amino-acid release and catecholaminergic precursor demand under physical and psychological load. Yi et al. (2025) identified salivary tyrosine among metabolites varying after high-intensity rowing and screening for muscle damage.
