Arachidonoyl glycine

Arachidonoyl glycine (NAGly) is an endogenous lipoamino acid structurally related to the endocannabinoid anandamide, modulating pain, inflammation, and nociceptive signalling through GPR18 and related receptors without direct cannabinoid-receptor activation. As a salivary lipid mediator it forms part of the endocannabinoid-related signalling network relevant to pain modulation and the analgesic response. Woodhams et al. (2015) reviewed this system's role in pain, and Piomelli (2000) established its fatty-acid-amide framework.
